Arizona Training

Rather than schlepping back and forth between Arizona and San Diego, I decided to plant myself in the desert for the two weeks between my sprint tri and Ironman Arizona.

Riding on the Beeline - one exciting stretch of road!

My friend Karleen scooter-ed the entire course with me.

After about 12 attempts, I got both of us in the same photo.

I was happy this storm didn't monsoon on me - I made it to the end of the ride with just dropping temps and sprinkles.

I've since migrated down to the dirty-T for some training and a reunion with this guy. Last year we were rookie pros and raced every single race together. This year it's been way too long since I've seen him.

I can't fathom how you take pics while riding. Even if you are going 8 mph I would still crash.....

Planting yourself in the dessert is a great idea and one that will pay off big time come race day.

OMG such persistence 12 tries for one photo. Sounds like you are having fun training. :) That is what it is all about. Keep smiling. :)

You are making me miss living in Tucson!! Maybe I will see you this weekend. You will be finishing WAY ahead of me though!! Thank you for inspiring me for the last couple of years. I cannot believe that I will be an Ironman Sunday night. ;)
