I spent three hours yesterday chasing my friends around on bikes. Trying desperately to cling to a wheel as my heart pounded through my chest and my legs threatened complete failure. Once I finally flew off the back of the pack one would pull me back up, or we would all sit up and catch our breath before the next person shot off the front and the chase was on again. Sections of the ride were extremely uncomfortable and at the same time there is nothing I would have rather been doing on a Sunday morning. And this is what I love about sport. It is so much more than training and racing.

Sport
I have never known life without sport. I may have changed sports several times, but there has seldom been a day in my life when sport was not a huge part of it. At a very young age sport provided me with focus and a lot of fun. As a girl, sport gave me confidence that I was strong and could conquer the world if only I set my mind to it. I really can't imagine how differently my life would have turned out were it not for sport.
