New Roads

It always amazes me when I find new roads right in my backyard. Today was no exception.

What started out with a standard well-traveled route past vineyards...

Wound past some familiar brown hills spotted with oak trees.

And led to some new roads - check out the miniature Christmas trees!

It was hot. And dry. I saw three snakes (1 was alive), 2 dead possums, and between Mike and I - we had 4 flats. It was a busy day on the bike!

This tiny red tree is the only fall foliage I saw all day. I guess in Southern CA I have to wait til closer to Thanksgiving for fall colors. A huge congrats to everyone who raced Kona yesterday.

4 flats !! and you liked your new route find ? I would have been cussing up a storm. Nice looking shots though. Sounds like you had plenty of time to snap em.

That's a lot of snakes, possums and flats for one bike ride! :) Sounds like a great session! :)

Never a dull moment - Nothing like a few flats and animals to go with such a beautiful countryside. Nice pics.
