Lotsa Swimming

My year has involved a lot of swimming. I have gotten a little bit faster. And there is still a lot of swimming work to do. Thankfully I have some friends that keep my quest to become a real swimmer quite fun.

Marit agreed to meet me at the pool at 6am this morning to do one of Kiet's turn-Charisa-into-a-swimmer workouts.

There was a lot of kicking (something I am embracing), pulling, swimming, drilling, etc. You name it, we did it. More than once. Something new to me was swimming with my feet tied together. I understand real swimmers do this all the time. I had never tried it before.

I forgot my bike tube to tie my feet together. But no worries - a goggle strap will do the trick!

I'm ready to go very slow without the aid of my feet....

We survived. I will be a real swimmer someday!

Thanks for the props C, you best become a swimmer or I'm gonna look pretty bad. As always, your commitment and work effort to improve is inspiring. And I like GoBigGreen's comment about swimming with shoes, totally and age-group swimming workout.

It was a BLAST - swimming with you always is. And seriously - you ARE a real swimmer....bit by bit, it's coming together. The band stuff was pretty fun, though - I'll have to admit :)

Umm... whoa. That's the longest swim workout I've ever seen on paper. Off to have a talk with the swim master!
