I'm on my second week of no running. In the past this most definitely would have killed me. This year it hasn't been bad. I have enjoyed going for some walks, slowing down a bit, and trying not to constantly rush from one thing to another.

I started a few house projects and even they have gone by the wayside - but I guess in some ways that is good. Most of the year I'm extremely driven and with training, work, etc. there is not a lot of room for even thinking about projects, much less slacking off on things.
So here's to slacking off, slowing down and just enjoying some time away from swim-bike-run and being more of a normal person. I've decided to head to San Francisco next weekend to try my hand at cycle cross. I'm sure I will have embarrassing photos to post, hopefully not along with any major injuries.

I'm glad you are enjoying your off-season!!! :) You worked hard this year, you deserve it.
What a perfect way to miss what you do just enough to want it bad when you're ready again :)
I can't wait to hear about cyclocross!! Have fun in San Fran. And I'm all for slacking off during the off season. We only get a few weeks out of the entire year to do it!
What cross race?
That S/B/R thing is a time commitment for sure. Probably, because of all the time you have to put on the bike.
So yeah, RELAX when you can.
Cyclocross! YES! Is there an Xterra Offroad Tri in your future?
