Growing up in a small midwest town, Independence Day always meant muggy, hot weather for viewing the holiday parade. As a kid, getting a front-row seat was key - otherwise how would you be able catch candy that was thrown off the floats?! A BBQ typically followed the parade. If we were lucky it would thunderstorm later in the day to cool everything off.
This year I plan to spend much of the Independence Day on my bike, with friends, followed by of course, a BBQ. Thank you to all of those who have sacrificed their lives and spent months away from their families in exchange for our independence.
