The Ordinary

I love to travel and race and see new sights. And I also love the ordinary. I love waving to the same guy each morning on my ride to work.

I love trying to climb the hill behind my house on the single speed without standing up. (I still can't do it).

And I love pretending I live in Europe when I ride my bike around the round-about.

You always have great posts, great stories, great pictures. But this post is my favorite of them all so far. You just get "it"

There is one roundabout on my way to school and one on the way home if I take the long way. I love riding them. I usually do an extra lap of the one on the way home...just for fun!

Charisa, why is it every time I read your blog, I think DAMN, I just thought the exact same thing a day ago. I was riding my beach cruiser through some roundabouts here in Oz and thinking, I wish they had these in the U.S.

Fun stuff...envious or riding without gloves...need to move NOW!!! The color on your bike just adds that much more beauty to your photos :)

Love your bike colors. All of your posts about commuting to work has me thinking about commuting once I start teaching. I mean, I may as well, school is only 3 miles away! Though it's unfortunately not as scenic as your commute I'm sure!

There is something about that that just looks so simple and pure - do you pretend the layed bricks are cobble stones?

Charisa, I have the same thoughts on my commute - though no cute roundabout. When I'm riding with a whole bunch of other commuters (a rare occurrence, sadly) I pretend that we're in Copenhagen. I wave to the same crossing guards every morning, and the same man and his bearded collie. Loving the ordinary, too.
