Butterfly Competition

It is true. In May of this year Maggs and I will be competing in a 50m butterfly competition. This came about since we both started swimming fly this year and concluded we are terrible at it. Or maybe that was just I, who was terrible. Either way - the competition is on.

This is where we need some help. Obviously winning provides bragging rights for the year. And this is HUGE. However, if you have any ideas for other winning stakes that will motivate us for the next few months, please share.

Everyone should feel free to donate prizes.

Nothing like some friendly competition!

Go to a pawn shop and buy a trophy, or one of the old school lane marking buoys. The buoy would make the best trophy ever! Hell I would put it in my swim bag and just pull it out and set it on the deck from time to time to remind people of my dominance...

One of my friends and I have a cycling jersey with a trophy on the front. THe winner of the last race gets to wear it only when we train together or on race day. Only way to get it back is to beat them in a race.

I just started swimming fly, and concluded that NOBODY is really good at it. Some people just suck less.

Noe if you were guys, Loser buys dinner, Winner picks the spot, Loser has to wear a swim cap with goggles, and the cap has to custom designed for maximum embarrasment.

But since you guys are not guys, That might not go over.

Be sure to post your times, and we can all see if we can beat it.

Loser has to race each tri nude for 2010.

Cedric? J/K!

I think it needs to be recorded so that the winner can post the video on their blog for a year! The loser has to wear this: http://www.zazzle.com/why_crawl_butterfly_button-145591246783084833

as someone who looks like she's having a complete fit when she "swims" fly ... i want to know ... is winning based on first to finish or who swims it most fly-ey.

The loser posts a banner on their blog saying "_____ is faster" or something like that with a link to the other blog.

I was rocking the butterfly today until my hip/knee/ITB decided to be a little bitch and made me stick a fork in the workout. I think about you and Maggs every time I do fly now. Don't worry, it sounds creepy but it's not! I don't think of you two in anywhere near the same way I think about Margaret Thatcher and Andrea Merkel when I think of Female Leaders of European Countries while I am on my trainer.

I love fly. For 25 meters. The loser should have to swim an extra 500 fly at the end of every masters practice for a month. Then you should compete again and see who is faster . . .

PS - butterfly is the best stroke ever. You'll be a bad a** once you get it down!!

This is going to be the race of the year! Forget Kona, forget your pro debut! :) If you win I think you should get coffee. :)
