Morning

I am a morning person. This morning started at 5am on the evil contraption that keeps a bike in it's non-natural upright position without going forward. At 60rpm. I turned on the Christmas lights and let the DVR roll, but didn't spend much time watching. There was a battle with the power meter, trying to push the watts up, then just keep them from plummeting.

Give me a mountain to climb any day and I will take it over the trainer. My hill for today's workout was Palomar. It was 29 on the mountain when I climbed on the bike in my living room. This fact made me like the evil trainer only slightly.

As I climbed off the bike dripping buckets of sweat, Steven sat on the couch wrapped in a blanket drinking his espresso. Ahhhhh, morning!

Ugh. that does not sound fun. It's always harder to keep the watts up inside.

The trainer is always tough. Around this time of year I am just building up tolerance to it so by the time Jan/Feb roll around and I REALLY can't ride outside, I'm kind of starting to like the darn thing! :) The good news is, it will make you really strong and your pedal stroke perfect! :)

You are right..the trainer stinks. But I LOVE the morning as well. I get mad at myself when I don't get up in time to enjoy a cup of coffee after a long run :)

I'm not a fan of the trainer, either, but at least I get a sense of accomplishment from the amazing amount of sweat rolling off me.

Trainer ride here, too. My ass was so sore. Not used to that much time in the saddle yet.

Steven is a jerk! He should have been feeding you espresso while you toiled away on the trainer. (He's not really a jerk.)

Yes, the trainer and the treadmill are evil! Can't stand any of them.

Strong work.Trainers and treadmills our tough. I like the warrior princess comment. Question??? If it is 29 climbing the moutain, how cold would it feel descending?

I like the look of that coffee.

coffee while you are on the trainer - that should be banned! Unless he made you some too.

Steven's got the right idea! Of course, I'm a pretty big fan of my current schedule of not getting up until after 8am :D

You know, the trainer is one of the necessary evils of our sport. 2010 will be your rookie pro season and you are almost sub 3:00 on the marathon? I am excited to see your results!

Yeah - you know the first thing I thought of when I read your post was "Man - that descent would be TOUGH!" I agree with Jen. :) NICE JOB!!!

Oh yes.. the trainer.. I remember you from last year. Well, you're one rider down.. umteen to go but you can do it! Those workouts are tough but they always pay big in the end!

Cedric needs to help out on the trainer. Maybe he could sing to you on the handlebars while you ride???
