What I Love About the Tour de France

This morning I was on my trainer watching the Tour and Ligget says "Oh dear me oh my" as Cancellera starts pushing the pace of the peloton. For three weeks every summer I am inspired by all things bicycle racing in France.

These are a few of my Loves of the Tour . . .

The bikes
The European fans
The scenery in HD
The passion of the riders for their sport
The climbing
The endurance of the entire event
The slow motion sprinting sequences
Yellow, green, polka dot and white

Here here! Couldn't agree more :)

I love the cute quips that Phil and Paul come up with - it seems that they should get bored with watching the peloton for hours on end. But they make it exciting and fresh every day. Yea!

Crashes! I am a guy - I love the crashes! Lately watching them deal with the cross wind and the whole "echelon" thing has been fascinating. I absolutely love the tour!

It's been fun watching all the coverage this year, and it's just getting started!

Isn't it the best time of the year, the Le Tour time. Love it.

Don't forget the drunken basques, running alongside the leaders as they grind their way up the pyrenees.

And the guy with the viking helmet.

Can't wait for the mountains.

The tour is one of the few times a year I wish I had cable.

The Tour is the best display of scenary ( Europe AND legs!) but also so entertaining as Marit reminds us in the off months! But i have to say that tho the crashes add that sick drama, i have been there at slightly lower speeds ( ha, very much lower) and less elevation and i hate the risks they take. Makes me cringe as i write this.

I have never rushed home as quickly as I am at the moment! I am hooked. Luckily with our time zone I catch the last 30 - 40 kms every day. If I miss that then I can watch the rerun later in the evening.

My husband is less interested and can't understand why dinner is late these days.....
