Color

I'm building a new website for work. And I have narrowed my color schemes down to three that I personally think are awesome. Which of these screams "Digital Microscopes are FUN!" and makes you want to purchase one (or twenty) online?

ohhh, that's a tough one! i like the color pallete of the first one the best. but is it "microscopy"!?!?! i dunno. but i'd love a living room those colors.
i think the middle one makes me think mircroscope more than the other two, i suppose because of the pattern across the middle. gives it more of a digital feel.
this probably isn't really helping, is it?

okay, looking at it again, the 3rd is my least favorite combo (and i mean that for *me* personally, just my aesthetic) BUT it probably would translate the best to a website. i can see the orange as links and accents and the other colors are pleasing, but with enough seriousness to connote reputable science products.

I'd go with the second one and tell them the middle strip id photos of you that require the use of a microscope to view properly.

I love the first one - but then again, I'm a sucker for blues in general... Really neat pallates, though. I'm looking forward to the final product! Good luck - they're all nice, though!!

I vote for the last one! (are we voting? ;) By the way - I felt like an elephant on my bike yesterday. Elephant legs in particular. :)

I think the last one is the most 'fun'

From one designer to the next, I vote for #3. There are plenty of neutral based sites out there and the third offers a chance to use the two brighter colors to add some punch and fun while still maintaining the serious aspect with the blues and gray.

It's a tough one. The classically trained interior designer that I am when employed really likes #1 - those would be great colors for a house or office. However, you are designing website, so for that I like #3. I too like blue and orange and that nice pale green is a great touch. Go forth and sell many microscopes.

I'm with Beth - love blue and orange! #3!!

I like #2. Or something similar to #2 with the green & blue from #1. The green is very "you" and thus, very fun just like you. In fact I don't think I have seen you NOT wearing green.

I like #1 the best, but think #3 is the most appropriate for what you're doing. Stand out colors are key for sales.

I vote for #1. #2 seems to monotone and kind of limiting. #3 has nice contract but it is overused on a lot of corporate sites.

Like #1, but it's a bit Pottery Barnish/West Elmish, and #3 is a good palette but it might be a bit too collegiate so I'll go with #2 by default. How about working up #2 a bit with another color? And right now, I'm thinking how did you make 14+ care so much to comment...you are good.

Last one, but what do I know. I'm a guy.

Number THREE! Strong colors - good contrast. I'm a big fan of orange in websites.

#2 bc the horizontal stripe looks like the mesh on a microphone. Ok the old kind. The kind Bob Barker used on the price is right:)

The second one, no doubt! It's professional in a fun and sophisticated way! Ana-Maria
P.S. Have been reading your blog for a while, and love you energy and enthusiasm!

I hate them all. You will have a lame website for sure. jk

Hope the recovery is going well.

i see why you like the palettes as displayed. I think it would depend on how they were depicted on your website, ie what font you used, and how the colors were organized on your website. Two and three are the most appealing at first glance. will you show option two and three how they will be displayed on your website (if you will have a strip of color on the side or if you want the whole page with color) and then show option 2 without the stripe in the middle?
