Oakland

On the way to Vineman last weekend we had the pleasure of spending time with our friend Kiet in Oakland.

Prior to our trip, this is what I pictured when I thought of "Oakland"
(read: ghetto).

However, Kiet made sure I saw some of the nicer parts of town...

There were trails to run on.

Past a few tiny houses...

With some crazy cool lanterns...

And we even found a British phone booth!

I had a great time showing you and Steven around, made me appreciate where I live seeing it through both of your eyes. I was in my kitchen today and I realized I've never had anyone so stoked to see yellow tile in the kitchen like Steven did when he first saw it.
