Rainy Ride

Riding sounded like a good idea when we left the house. There were black clouds, but only sprinkles. Before we reached Allan's house to pick him up the clouds unleashed their fury with some downpours and hail.

Undeterred, we picked up Allan and carried on. After a while we even dried out and the sun made an appearance. Briefly.

And then Southern CA made up for its lack of rain in the past seven months.

We found shelter in a market.
And then the power went out.

There was some hail.

After the lightning, we called the meat wagon.

Thanks for the rescue Dad!!

OMG you weren't kidding! Wow! That's a lot of water, probably smart to not ride in it!

Nothing like us Dads, huh?

You know, since your Dad has a year or two on me, I may have to start looking into hair dye so I won't look older than him..

Cheers!

SoCal just moved down a notch, or four.

Ok, that picture of Ian is priceless.
Now welcome to my world of rain & water, only that shit is the norm here (we've smashed rain fall records this year for November... and we started breaking them over a week ago!!!). It's probably warmer there too. Jerks. :P

Ha, ha! Your dad is so funny! We started out this morning too, felt 5 rain drops and ran home for more coffee. 10 minutes later, it was sunny! So TOTALLY California. I'm sure you got out again, right?!

BRRRRRRRR!
When I lived in AZ, we wouldn't ride if there was just a 'chance' of rain. Now, in Hawaii, we go in just about any rain conditions and get rained on at least 50% of the time during the winter. But the difference is that IT IS NOT COLD. ;)

This cracks me up since I live 20 miles away and none of that happened here- or at least not late enough in the day that I was actually awake to witness it! Love the last pic!

At least you had good company. Last summer when I got stuck in a downpour, I found myself under a shelter with a crazy woman who insisted on speaking non-stop to me in French. I couldn't remember enough French to tell her I didn't know exactly what she was saying.
Yay Dad!
