Riding Adventures

My massive training weekend did not disappoint. What really made it spectacular was the combination of the great outdoors and some really fun friends to ride with. Since photos are generally more exciting than my blah, blah, blah - here you go.

Saturday was clear and cold to start, but warmed up nicely.

Winter orchard. Not a great pic, but I thought it was beautiful.

Sunday's bike adventures included a lot of wind and as we climbed, much colder temps. One of the highlights was when either a bobcat or a very young mountain lion ran across the street in front of us. My fast-camera-skills failed me. And thankfully whatever the cat was - it jumped in front of us and not on top of us!

I somehow lured Nick to come on a ride that is over 100 miles with a lot of climbing, so that mid-way we could visit this little tasty refueling stop. Nothing like a hot chocolate and sugary melt-in-your-mouth treat to keep you going on the way home.

Since Nick is slightly stronger than I am on the bike, in order to keep things interesting he did the entire ride in his big chain ring. And I still fell off his wheel. Multiple times!

Yeah - that small speck way up the road, that's the wheel (and more importantly wind protector) I lost...

Four miles from home the skies decided to open up and just monsoon on me.

Oh yeah, riding in the pouring rain - good times.

Hope everyone had a great weekend. I'm enjoying RESTING today!
